Blogger of the week – NOAH!

Welcome to my blog, my name is Noah.

Today is Monday and we are working on our structures.  Here are some of the examples of our structures:

Now we are working on our Hebrew project.

Today we are doing gym class. We are playing a soccer game.

This is a French class. My friend Tobey helped take these pictures.

Here we are in English reading our novel study book The BFG.

Here are some videoes of our Tefillah:

Thank you for reading. Please leave some comments and tell me what me and my friends can do next.

Winter Fun Day!

Good morning Grade 3 parents and students!

Our exciting Winter Fun Day is quickly approaching and before we can fully immerse ourselves in the wonder of snow and ice… We need consent forms filled and returned. I have printed paper copies for those who have not handed back in and extended the return date to Friday, February 7th, 2020. These copies will be coming home tonight.

As mentioned in a recent email you can indicate on the form whether your child wishes to partake in skating or tobogganing so we can allocate appropriate numbers of staff to each activity.

Regardless of the activity,  helmets MUST be worn.

Thank you for your continued support,

Miss M

General Studies homework December 4th 2019

Good Morning Grade 3 and Grade 3 parents,

This week you have two options:

Math – beginning our measurement unit with looking into centimetres. (Thanks to Nelson Mathematics for being a great resource!)

Language Arts – using description to improve creative writing. Use the attached worksheet as a guide and read the task sheet to improve the boring sentences to create winderfully descriptive sentences. (Thanks to Nelson Literacy for super helpful guides to creative writing!)

As always, the requirement is to complete one piece of homework (you can complete more if you wish) and students will have the opportunity to select hard copies of all the above resources.  Any questions, please let me know.

Kitah Gimmel

This week we are learning new things about our friends. Students were tasked with asking each other questions in Hebrew to learn something they don’t know about another student in the class. Some topics we discussed include: favourite food, hobbies, favourite animals, and favourite books.

Reminder for Friday!

Hello Grade 3 and Grade 3 parents!

Dress Down Day is this Friday (October 25th)

Knesset has decided that our Dress Down Day donations will be given to the Patient Urgent Needs Fund at the Ottawa Hospital in memory of Elianna Saidenberg.

Please remember to bring a donation!

This week in Kitah Gimmel

This week Kitah Gimmel was been busy learning about Yom Kippur. We spent time learning about the five tefillot of Yom Kippur, as well as the importance of reflecting on the relationship we have with ourselves, with G-d, and with our friends. Another theme discussed this week was Lashon Hara (talking badly about our friends, gossip). We played the game broken telephone to gain a better understanding of how easy it is to unintentionally pass the wrong message.
