3A and 3B welcomed the month of Adar with smiles and crazy hats. We are looking forward to lots of fun while we learn in the days leading up to Purim.

Celebrations All Around!
3A and 3B enjoyed the special celebration of the Hebrew language and Tu B’Shevat activities on Thursday. Morah Sigal prepared many meaningful lessons and activities for the students to do throughout the day.
The students made posters, poems and worked on writing Hebrew sentences. Both classes came together to play a Hebrew Kahoot game as well. Monsieur P., the students, and I would like to thank Morah Sigal for planning such a terrific day filled with Ruach.
Hebrew
Each Friday afternoon, the Grade 3 classes have been getting together via Google Meet. We have enjoyed Kahoot games that helped us review schoolwork. Special friendship interviews had students in 3A and 3B talking with each other on Google hangouts and getting to know each other a little better.
Today we were lucky enough to spend time with the authors of our Chumash workbooks. Noam and Dalia Reshef have taught for many years in Israel and Montreal. They decided to make workbooks easier and more interesting for children to learn Chumash. We had fun looking through the book and learning with them today. Mme. Stephanie joined our meet today and we found out that Noam and Dalia are her in-laws.

Kitah Gimmel Israel Projects
The last three weeks have been very busy in Kitah Gimmel. We have been researching and developing our projects on our choice cities in Israel, and were very excited to share our 3D models (using only things we already had at home!) with the class. We have been learning from each other about different cities, new cultural foods, and ancient holy places.

Kitah Gimmel visits Hillel Lodge
Kitah Gimmel visited Hillel Lodge to bake Hamentashen with the residents. We had a wonderful time learning to make the delicious cookies and learned a few special tricks on how to fold them!
Exciting News for Grade 3!
Good morning Grade 3 and Grade 3 parents,
Today a letter and permission form will be coming home regarding the soft launch of grade 3 student blogfolios!
The ultimate goal is to help students learn communication, reflection, and digital citizenship skills, including online safety, that will help them throughout their lives. Here are some examples of the different types of blogfolios from one of the older grades in our school.
Public Blogfolio – This student has been blogging since Kindergarten. It’s wonderful to see how her learning has grown and developed over time.
Public Avatar Blogfolio – This student has just begun her blogging journey and has chosen to keep her name and identity private. We are still able to see her growth and interact with her on her journey. Notice how students have learned to respect her privacy by using the alias in the comments as well.
Password Protected Blogfolio – This student has shared her name and is open to leaving some posts public, however when she shares pictures or videos, she has password protected the post. Only those who have been approved by her or her parents are allowed to know the password.
Private Blogfolio – This blog is completely private. Unless you have an Edublogs account and have been granted access to this blog, you will not be able to see the content.
If you could sign and return the permission form by Monday, March 9th, 2020, I will add an electronic copy here.
We are so excited to finally begin to build a spot for all of our awesome work! If you have any questions or queries please do not hesitate to email.
The Grade 3 team.

Rosh Chodesh Adar
This month we have been learning the Tefilla for Rosh Chodesh Adar. The students of Kitah Gimmel were very excited to demonstrate their knowledge of the Tefilla and sing it as a class!
This week in Kitah Gimmel
We had a busy week in Kitah Gimmel! We spent time practising the new prayers we learned and started presenting our “Mi Ani” “Who am I” projects to the class.
Shabbat Shalom!
